Hello and welcome to the web site of the Newbiggin by the Sea Arts Forum.
At the AGM on 27th September 2012, members agreed to dissolve the Charity and Company status, thereby ending the Arts Forum.
This is sad news indeed, but unfortunately inevitable after a series of bad fortunes and difficult climates.
Following this decision, the Chair, Rebecca McCready, has been liaising with the Newbiggin Town Council, for them to take over the existing lease of the building, in its entirety, from the Arts Forum. This transfer will take place on 30th November 2012, and from the 1st December, the Town Council will be responsible for running the building. They will be operating under the same lease as the Arts Forum and have agreed to this assignment in order to safeguard the groups and individuals using the building. This is an extremely successful outcome and secures the medium-term future of the building and its users.
Once final business has been concluded with the building, the process of apply for dissolution with Charities Commission and Companies House will begin. More information can be sought from Rebecca directly.
The Newbiggin Arts Forum Ltd Annual General Meeting took place on Thursday 27th September 2012.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and recent death of our Secretary, Mariann Harkness. She was an enormous force for good in our organisation and throughout Newbiggin by the Sea, and will be missed very much.
It is also with great sadness that we have accepted the resignation of our much loved Chair, Laura Mathieson. Laura has resigned due to ill health, and we wish her a speedy and full recovery. She too has been a dedicated, hard working and enthusiastic member of the steering group since its early days, and will also be much missed by us all. Get well soon, Laura.
We have rooms available for hire and rent!
